Every year Local Anesthetic on WXRT here in Chicago reaches out to Chicago-area musicians to create a quick holiday jingle that they then air around the holidays. (More information can be found here.) We’ve been creating songs for this Holiday Spectacular for the past 5 years or so, and every time we do it becomes an exercise in writing and recording with tight restraints and a tighter deadline. The interesting part, though, is that the results of 3 out of the past 5 years have turned into full-on Helicopters songs. (This song was not one of those instances.) I’ll be posting this year’s song later in the week, as well as clips from other past years once I can track them down.
