Moving + Studio

Hi there. Brian here, just giving a little status update since we haven’t been very vocal as of late. Dave, J, and I have all been in the midst of moving the past couple of months, but the final result is three new houses, and an excitingly-expanded studio space. Now that all the gear has a generous albeit slightly chilly new home in my basement, we are beginning to work on what will be our next release.

We had practice #2.5ish in the new space this past Wednesday, which resulted in a nearly complete version of a new song, tentatively entitled ‘Not Enough’. It’s a poppy little number, good dance vibe, which had J working up some interesting guitar and bass lines, and me pulling out some of my oldest and dearest synths to sweeten the mix. Think you’ll dig it when it’s completed.

We also have another new track, which was hinted at through our XRT Christmas project. It’s a little darker and not immediately accessible (IMO), but in the same way that ‘Iran’ is…you aren’t sure if you get it at first. But it wiggles its way in, and then you have that ‘A ha’ moment where it clicks. That’s the kind of song I really love.  Complicated, but not really. Just initially unfamiliar.

All in all, we’re just very excited to have the moving stuff past us, and to be back in the studio. Look for some new music around April.
